Mr. Sharad Sharma is widely regarded as a visionary veteran in the Indian Banking and Financial Services Industry with 30 years of experience. He joined the BNP Paribas group in 1989.
Mr. Sharma has held various leadership positions before leading the Bank's initiative in the onshore wealth management business as Country Head. These include the distinction of holding leadership positions with Scheduled Commercial Banks (SBI and BNP Paribas) in the area of Corporate Banking, Treasury and Forex, Private Banking and Wealth Management, Retail Banking and Liability Management. He has also, in the capacity of Executive Director, been the guiding light for Geojit BNP Paribas, India's leading Stock Broking Company.
In addition to his responsibilities at the BNP Paribas Group, Mr. Sharma has served as the Chairman of Examination Committee of Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB), India for over four years. He has held several board level positions with prestigious organisations including Financial Planning Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd board for six years and Board of BNP Paribas Wealth Management (India) Pvt. Ltd. for over 9 years.
Mr. Sharma has a Master's Degree in Financial Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, and is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers. He has been awarded CFP certification by Financial Planning Standards Board India.
Mr. Vivek Kudal joined BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) in December 2014 and now leads multiple functions for the AMC. His responsibilities at BNPP AM include managing the Operations, Fund Accountancy, Technology and Administration functions.
Mr. Kudal is instrumental in driving operational excellence at BNP Paribas AMC. With a career reflecting strong leadership skills and a team-based management style, he is aptly positioned to transform strategy and process-orientation into success.
Mr. Kudal is a Chartered Accountant and Commerce Graduate from Mumbai University.
Since March 2017, Mr. Prithipal Singh has been leading the sales team of BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) to build excellence and scale. With focussed experience of 21 years in asset management and a flair for developing and managing strong client relationships, Mr. Singh is the driving force behind key partnerships for the AMC.
Along with a passion for building outstanding client teams, his experience includes Retail Sales and Central Distribution tie-ups at BNPP AM and Regional Head – Mumbai at Reliance Capital Asset Management Ltd. In the past, he has helped create growth and value at prestigious firms like Reliance Capital Asset Management Ltd., Berger Paints India Ltd and Castrol India Ltd.
Mr. Singh is a management graduate with a specialisation in Marketing.
Ms. Krishnan has over 17 years of experience in the legal domain and oversees all legal services at BNPP AM. She is responsible for managing legal and regulatory compliance programs that enable BNPP AM to operate across India while adhering to the highest ethical standards. With an eye for detail, she leads a team that sharply analyses customer facing processes and activities of the AMC from a legal and regulatory perspective.
Prior to joining BNPP AM in May 2013, she served IDFC Asset Management Co. Ltd. apart from various prestigious mutual funds firms in India.
Ms. Krishnan is a Company Secretary, a Bachelor in General Law and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Mumbai.
Dr. Leena heads the Risk Management Function at BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) India. In this role she is responsible for Investment Risk and oversees the Operational Risk Control (ORC) Function. Dr. Leena brings to the table 15 years of rich industry experience. She has previously spent around 10 years in SBI Mutual Fund handling Investment and Market risk. With astute observation and a thorough understanding of the asset management landscape, she provides a watchful eye to the business.
Academically, she is Doctorate in Finance with focus on ‘Performance Evaluation of Mutual Funds’ from IIT Bombay and holds a Master’s degree in International Business.
Mr. Borkar has the responsibility of building excellence in Investment Operations to meet organisational goals at BNP Paribas Asset Management India Pvt Ltd with over 26 years of experience in asset management.
Prior to this, he was an integral part of Network and Change Management Operations team at BNPP AM. Prior to joining it, he has held leadership positions at Franklin Templeton Asset Management (I) Pvt. Ltd. and ABN Amro Asset Management (India) Ltd.
Mr. Borkar is a Commerce graduate from University of Mumbai and has a Diploma in Integrated Programming and Systems Management.
Mr. Asif Amin brings 17 years of rich experience in Marketing & Advertising to the table. He is responsible for spearheading Marketing, Brand, Communications & Digital initiatives at BNPP AM. With an eye on the latest communication channels, he identifies new opportunities and drives impactful creative solutions for the organisation.
His prior stints include key leadership positions at FCM Travel Solutions and Reliance Mutual Fund.
With a thorough understanding of market insights and customer expectations, he is driven to add value to the customer experience at every step.
Mr. Amin has a Master’s Degree in Management Studies from Mumbai University.
Mr. Suresh Soni is a seasoned asset management professional with rich experience of over 25 years. He has worked across investment and business management and has a varied experience working with start-ups as well as global giants and across retail as well as institutional clients. In his prior roles, he has worked for around 15 years at Deutsche Asset Management, leading it to become the most successful foreign bank promoted asset manager in the country. Recently, he was CEO at Edelweiss Alternative Asset Advisors, one of the largest alternative asset managers in the country.
Mr. Suresh Soni has completed B.Sc., ACA and Grad CWA
Mr. Deshpande, with a total work experience of 30 years, is responsible for overall operations, IT, finance, planning, and controlling functions at the AMC.
Prior to this, he worked with Deutsche Asset Management (India) Pvt Ltd as Director & COO with the role of business management, oversight of all operations, coordination on shared services, and implementation of local and global policies. He has also previously worked with Birla Sun Life Distribution (now Aditya Birla Money) for over 7 years and was last designated as Vice President & Company Secretary.
Mr. Kiran Deshpande has done B.Com, Master in Investment Management, CMA, ACS, CFP and is Fellow of Insurance Institute of India.
Mr. Mahmood Basha brings with him 22 years of total experience. In his previous assignment, he was National Sales Head for Pine Bridge Investment Asset Management Company (India) Private Ltd. He has also worked for companies like Franklin Templeton Investments and Karvy Consultants.
Mr. Mahmood Basha has completed his MBA (Finance) from Osmania University, CFP
Mr. Shah has over 8 years of experience in the mutual fund industry. Prior to joining Baroda AMC in March 2021, he was associated with Nippon Life India Asset Management Limited, Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company Limited, BNP Paribas Asset Management India Private Limited & Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company Limited in roles and functions within the Compliance, Legal & Secretarial department.
Mr. Umang Shah has degrees in B.Com, LLB, CS (Executive)
Mr. Amitabh Ambastha has over 23 years of experience in the asset management industry primarily in Investor Service, Operations & Risk (AML, KYC). Prior to joining Baroda Asset Management India Limited., he was associated with TATA Asset Management Co. Ltd and UTI Technology Services Ltd.
He is a management graduate, holds Strategy Management Diploma from IIM Kozhikode (EEPSM) and is a Green Belt certificate holder. He also holds KYC & AML certification from Indian Institute of Banking & Finance and Licentiate Certificate from Insurance Institute of India.
Mr. Amitabh Ambastha has completed his B.Sc (Hons), PGDM, CAIIB, EEPSM from IIM Kozhikode.
Ms. Reesha Varma has over 13 years of experience in the Human Resources function. Prior to joining the AMC, she was associated with Equifax Software Services and JM Financial Products Limited and has worked as an HR Business Partner for various functions of the said organisations.
Ms Reesha Varma has completed her BSc I.T & EPYM from IIM–Calcutta.
